The Silver Palace, ex-WP 813, ex-AutoTrain 462, was once also owned by Country & Western star Merle Haggard. Up until recently, it was owned by Vista Rail Inc and operated for charter by RailCruise America. RailCruise's web site for the car [which could disappear at any time] includes the photos below, as well as floor plans and dinner offerings.

As of September, 1998, the Silver Palace was sold to Wisconsin Central's subsidiary Algoma Central, for use on their Agawa Canyon tourist train. It has been refurbished and renamed Spirit of Superior, and entered service on May 21, 1999.

Though modified with tables, the dome seats retain their original design.

The lounge area under the dome, where there were once restrooms. Note the wonderful glass divider on the left that appears to take its inspiration from Bourdelle's coffee shop murals of the CZ's route map.

The forward lounge, where in CZ times there were coach seats. Note the CZ logo on the wall.

The aft former coach section, looking forward towards the dome stairs.
