WP 881, the Silver Crescent, had the honor of being the last car on the last westbound CZ. Soon after, it was purchased directly from the WP by William Harmson, of Wheatridge, CO (his company "Liquid Sugars" supplied "Jolly Rancher Candies" with raw product for their plants). Through a retired Pullman Porter who knew Mr. Harmson and who was a member of the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Florida, communication was set up and ultimately the car was donated (along with the baggage Silver Stag) to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum. Click here to go read a detailed description and a virtual tour of the car from the GCRM's web site. The Crescent has one of the most perfectly preserved interiors, as the car never saw Amtrak service.
